Here's the moment the Eagle pulled a high-G aerial maneuver and turned on the Hawk. This was a crazy deep crop so IQ is pretty bad but the Eagle doesn't appear to be carrying anything.

Thanks, Dave. I guess it was just the angle the talons were aligned when the other shot was taken. This is a pretty amazing position he put himself in!

Was photographing some waterfowl along a lake in the late evening light when I heard a big splash and thought one of the fishermen on the far side of the lake had fallen in. Then about thirty seconds later I saw this Osprey heading my way carrying dinner home. I was able to pick up focus while he was still low above the water but he was tiny in the frame until he started climbing. I was happy to capture a few frames as he climbed past me with a decent background before he got all the way to the clear evening sky. Not much light so ISO was through the roof but Topaz DeNoise helped a lot.

Sandhill Cranes near Lodi, CA. These are a few months old now, but they were the first time I successfully captured BIF (that were tack sharp)! I give a lot of the credit to @Steve for his many tips. Up until this point, my biggest mistake was shooting at too low a shutter speed. I thought I had a fairly steady hand, but apparently not... 1/3200 sec was the key.
