Birds in Flight -- Share your BIF Images

They didnt give me any great opportunities this weekend, but here are some Red Headed Woodpeckers in flight from yesterday - the 1st weekend I have had the Nikon 800mm PF lens (shot with the Z9)
Not sure why the EXIF isnt showing, but all these are either 1/2500sec or 1/3200sec - iso between 500-800 and all shot at f6.3 wide open. And even with the 800mm...these are still considerable crops.

Pintails in flight. Now I really understand why they are called that. you can pin them to the sky.

I'm really jazzed about this experience. I went out for a sunset shoot, there was a lull in the rain and wind (Northern California), and so I figured let's go to may favorite place and see what we see.
The amount of water in the rice fields presented an opportunity with lots of potential. There were Northern Pintails on the shallow waters of the rice fields and I thought I hand out for a bit to get the reflection of the sky on the water.

Just as I was about to leave, various flocks of Pintails began arriving and putting on an areal display. I began following them and I really could hardly see them in the darker areas.

I tracked them as they darted up and down and circled. I was waiting for them to hit a bright spot in the sky and capture their silhouettes, but I got something even better.
In any case this image was captured at ISO 26000 with the Z9 and the Sony FE 200-600mm 6.3 with a 1.4 teleconverter via Megadap21.

As far as I'm concerned, NIKON can take their sweet time in putting out that lens. This will do for a while.

Noise is noise, and color is color. Also out of hundreds of images very few were out of focus (five to be exact), so I'm working with what I have.

Next I'll take my Canon lens (600m F4) and see how I fair. From past experience it should be even better. The difference being that I was able to hand hold the Sony lens. The Canon is all of 11lbs or more and I do need my monopod.
