Collar foot plate alternative for the Nikon 500 f5.6 PF lens

I switched to the Hejnar Foot for my 500mm PF a couple years ago. Recently with the Z8 Lens Mount issue I added the Black Rapid Safety Tether even though the Mount was Checked and Serviced by Nikon . Just a little added security.

I like the Hejnar replacement foot (H129) for my 500mm PF.
I use it as a handle during trips. It's secure and sturdy.
I would like it a big longer as i have gigantic hands but it's fine.
Compared to others brands it's the longest.

OK, Just received my new 500 PF 5.6 lens today and immediately went out for a trial. WOW, so nice and light and compact compared to my 200 - 500 f 5.6 Nikon lens. I did also order the replacement foot plate (Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens arca type foot replacement with QD ( Quick Detach ) socket. By Hejnar Photo. Should be here on Monday.
Here is one of my first shots and a local pond that was covered with algae (accounts for the green legs of the Green Heron) and a Green Heron that was nice enough to pose for me! I am excited.

Yeah, the 500 PF is a great lens, and a significant step up from the 200-500. Congrats and enjoy.

Great News! I am loving my first day with it. I just made some D850 adjustments and can't wait to try them out in the wild tomorrow!!!!
Best,
Jimmy
Now to try to sell my 200 - 500 f5.6 lens It is in mint shape. Only issue is the collar lock which does not hold totally solid tight but works just fine otherwise. Any suggestions as to where to post the lens sale???

The $36 Leffoto RF-N720 foot works well enough. When I owned the 500mm PF lens I never used the foot and left it off the lens that I used hand held. I find it easier to hold the lens with the foot not in the way.

Instead of replacing the factory foot I usually add a lens plate that costs me less than $50 and provides a way to attach it to an Arca-Swiss compatible head or Kirk safety strap.

I have a Hejnar replacement foot for my PF 500 that I use with a D750 and a D850. I bought the one that allows the lens and body to move further forward in the clamp. Both my bodies have grips, and I do use it with a TC 14 E converter. all this makes the whole rig back heavy and hard to balance on a gimbal. The Hejnar is excellent quality.
