Colors of Fall

The peak of our fall colors is behind us, but not by much and some individual trees are just peaking. Here in northcentral Pennsylvania we're at the transition between the northern hardwood forest and the oak-hickory forest -- the best of both worlds. And here are examples of the most colorful trees from each, first a sugar maple and then a black gum --
