Copy CFExpress directly to SSD

I would be curious to know the power draw of a Samsung SSD (e.g. T5 or T7) and an SD card/reader plugged into an unpowered hub. I wonder if a phone or tablet could handle the load, and for how long?

For the time it takes to copy the files…a charged (or mostly so) iPad should be just fine. It can be recharged separately when needed..even on Safari. I will still have a laptop in addition..the iPad is for reading and email…unless space or weight considerations intervene. Samsung claims 1.5 amps at 5v…so 7.5 watts. OTOH…if all I’m interested in while gone is backing up the cords the iPad is a lot lighter…I’m headed on a trip here in FL early March so I will try the iPad nd hub and see how it works for me.

solvable problems. they could simply put a cap on power draw and allow low draw drives
That's related to my question. I know that older iPads that used the Lightning connector were quite finicky when items were plugged in. I had several audio DACs that would not work due to power draw. My Galaxy S23 phone is a bit more friendly with card readers and Samsung ssd's. But I know there must be a limit on power draws, and I was curious if an SSD and an SD card reader combined would exceed that power limit. If not, then that is an option.
