Corona's impact on my photography

Reading the comments above the one thing that jumps out is that because of the restrictions we’re all experiencing at the moment, everyone is having to adapt.
We’re all now having to use our imaginations more as the opportunities become more limited & we search for compositions or subjects to photograph closer to home or of things we’ve not thought of photographing before.
I say we all take this opportunity to work on our photography weaknesses whatever they may be so that when the restrictions are lifted we’ve at least gained something from it!
Well that’s my plan anyway.

Reading through this thread got me to wondering how this year compared with previous years in terms of how often I went our with my camera. My initial thought was that C-19 had cut back on the number of opportunities I'd had to take pictures, so was quite surprised to discover that over the past 5 years this has actually been my most productive time. Figure that one out  In fact I have to go right back to 2012 to find a year I had more shooting opportunities - and that was nearly double this year! I plan to put this situation to rights once I've retired in March :)

What is clear, however, is that with the exception of one week in August and another in September all of my forays this year have been local (within 30 miles of Bristol, UK). Unlike the US experiences of finding parks over-run with people ours have been virtually deserted. I guess most Brits are happier channel hopping on the TV than getting out to enjoy the countryside. Long may that last :)

Happy New Year folks. Stay fit and healthy there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey all, hope your all having good time and are safe snd well.
I actually rediscovered photography!
Started shooting birds on the feeder, looked more and more online for tutorials( cue Steve!)
And even bought a few manual primes cheapish of ebay, even one from Japan( darn import duty!)
Had a go at Macro too with extension tubes and s rack, really enjoy it too. Cheap as chips, £15 pound tubes, old Nikkor 100mm f3.5 needed a strip down and clean, but again cheap, only £30ish, rack was £12 I know its nit the best but I wanted to try before I spend a lot.
I even became a member of a wildfowl trust! So great oppertunities, they even have Beaver!
I think a lot of these things I would’nt have give em a go, one good thing to come out of this nightmare!
