I just shot the Yellow-throated toucan elsewhere, and almost the exact position.

I boosted the exposure and shadows. A touch more saturation.

Thanks! Reason I asked is I shot the same the bird in the same position in another country with the same gear as you minus body - I used z8.

Give me an idea of what is possible. Mine is sharp, but I feel yours is sharper.

I checked to see if I had boosted the sharpness but I didn't.

We were also told the extreme rain was not normal for November. The same as you on the east coast, we actually had no rain for 3 days.
I felt very lucky to see both toucans. Let's face it, all the birds, since they were all new to me.
I used the Plena 135 1.8 for my hummingbird photos. It would not have been possible otherwise to have a high shutter speed and a relatively low ISO.

I was there between Nov. 8th and the 15th, got rained on all day, both days in Monteverde but lucked out in Sarapiqui and Tarcoles. They had an unusually wet November
