A friend and former co-worker offered the opportunity to photograph her husband's Dahlia garden. He has over 100 varieties planted in the garden and I could not pass it up. Now, some might not consider photos of blooms that range up tyo dinner plate size as true "close-up" work, and I have mixed in a few other shots. Next year I hope to visit them every couple of weeks to catch the many different varieties that bloom over a few month period. What we saw was a late season snapshot of the whole season. Anyway, here are a few to share.
Used my D850 with that oldie but goodie 70-180 macro long out of production but still good at its job, plus my Z9 with the MN105 Z macro and the Z 100-400 ( an outstanding closeup lens!).
