Going to start a new thread.
As mentioned in my Thunderbolt thread, I posted on DPReview and this new method came up.
Uses an CFe to NVMe adapter. This was the linked model. There are other models too.
You basically create new folders and then copy those using the camera copy function.
Could be to a second card just the same but this could be less expensive in the long run.
Claimed 400mb/s with a mid level NVMe card.
Have to make sure you have something to protect the NVMe drive.

Too late for my trip on Monday. If anyone tries this let us know how it works out for you.

It is an interesting option indeed.
I would wait for something more robust than the one on the picture though. Thank you for the post, I will be monitoring available options and test them.

I have found there is similar solution available for Xbox and it may be usable for camera as well: Conversion Adapter
