Dragonfly outing proper - featuring DIF. How on earth do you photograph them?

Another idea, if your camera allows it, is to set an in-camera focus limiter to a specific focus distance (I have mine on the Olympus OM-1 set to 3 to 8m) so the AF doesn't go for the background and it catches on quicker.

Also, some lenses (like Sigma and probably Tamron) allow configuration of their focus limiter via the console attachment to do the same thing.

Thanks @StefanSC On Z8 300pf I had to do that manually. My friend took his Canon R7, and at the end of the shoot, he wondered if his OMS 1 would have been a better bet. So can I ask what modes you found best on yours? Cheers to you
