Very tough shooting situation. The chicks appear to be in light....but there are shadows all around them. The whites are blown......there is no data there to be recovered.
Personally I would walk away and find a subject to photograph where there was better, more even light. Try photographing in the early morning or late evening when the light is not so harsh.

Yeah, the harsh light and cluttered background just ruined this photo for me…This time the image is lacking a decent amount of color, but it’s really hard to get that accurate when shooting in light like this. Head out earlier in the morning or esrly evening and you will be rewarded with excellent light.
