I had a major misfire issues with a Flashpoint Zoom Li-on III (Godox V860III) and a Z7II. One of the troubleshooting tips with the Adorama rep was to set the shutter to mechanical (instead of electronic front curtain) on the Z7. It didn't fix the issue and I got the flash warrantied. I have other Flashpoint (Godox) flashes that I've used with the Z8 and cannot go higher than 1/200 shutter speed without a black line appearing. I also have a new Z6III and keep the shutter at mechanical whenever I'm using the flash.

So, there may be an issue with the V860III and electronic shutters, or in your specific case, I would try setting the flash to "normal" instead of High-Speed Sync and set the Z9 Custom Settings: e1: Flash Sync Speed to 1/200 and see if that eliminates the issue.
I'll try that tomorrow but it's weird that in outside daylight it overexposes way to much no matter what but in low light like after sunset it's fine or indoors. The Z8 and Z9 only have electronic shutter, I didn't know the Z6III has mechanical shutter. Thanks.

I use the V1 as well and have sold off all of my SB800s (save 1, just in case).

I use the XPro trigger to fire it off camera with the AD200 (with various modifiers). My only regret is that I wish I'd sprang for something with more power on the AD (400 or 600w) and I think those of you that use strobes for wildlife would definitely want that power too.

But the V1 still works great for fill and often just by itself (with the diffusion dome) when I don't feel the need to pull out the softbox / umbrellas for the AD200.

I tried it again today and same What I think is the V860II is not compatible with the Z9 or Z8. But the newer versions V860III and V1 are for the newer Nikon mirrorless cameras.

I got the V860II for my Z9 with the latest firmware, Sometimes the flash will fire and the picture will be black, With mirrorless cameras what settings should we be using? Because in my D850 it worked great.

Check your sync speed first. The settings should be the same regardless of the camera being a dSLR or mirrorless. Electronic shutters might have an effect but the sync speed ought to be the same in theory so might be worth checking if ES does need a different approach. Are you using HSS sync? Arte you using it to add light to a dark scene/subject or as a fill light in daylight?

When I got my Z6ii my V860ii would not work and I had to update to firmware v1.9 IIRC. I saw this about the Godox firmware not installing correctly: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1696004/

Yes I'm using Auto 200 has, I'm updated to the latest firmware but I'm using it as fill flash in daylight and it's not possible because no matter what settings I use everything is blown out, But inside the church or outside in really low light it works great go figure. Thanks 😊

So are you using HSS? Then you can use any shutter speed you like, but the flash power will suffer a bit.
