I do like the idea of themed threads like this and would like to see more of them on this forum. It is more convenient for me to look at new posts on an existing thread than to try to see what every new thread for a new set of images is.

Thanks, They were taken at the Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland FL.
Hello, Awesome images Cas1234! I Have the same set up. Just curious, in light of the recent discussions about use of UV filter or not; just curious if you have a UV filter on your lens for these shots? I have always had one on mine and after the recent discussions, I am seriously thinking of removing it since I am never real happy with the sharpness in my images using this setup. Thank you!

Beautiful shot, I use a high quality UV filter on all my lenses. I have read that is was not needed for digital cameras, but being old school, I still like the lens protection and find it 10x easier to clean flat glass then then clean in the corners of the curved lens. I have not seen any softness in photos with the UV filter, and if there was it was something I did wrong, motion blur, etc

Hmm. OK I have an expensive Zeiss UV filter on my 200 - 500 f 5.6 lens. I was about to remove it after reading and watching the Youtube videos and discussions but it made me cringe to do so. Just having the bare glass now exposed. Maybe I will try a few shots with out on a nice day and see what I get. I love your images, tack sharp so perhaps it is just me. Thank you!

I'm unclear if this first shot is for self warming or positioning as a reflector to warm the nest eggs at its feet; Yet, an intersting pose.

Maybe, I will run the lens calibration test with and without the UV filter. I hear some people complaining about back-focusing with the UV filter attached. I calibrated my lens with the UV filter installed

A few of my favorites. I should honestly have more than this, a very underrated bird.
