Great Egret

A great egret that I spotted in somewhat bright light for a shot of a white bird, so I had my work cut out for me. I decided to keep the pic the same as in camera with the exp. focused on the bird so as to make it stand out more and keep any bg dark with distractions to a minimal. The sat. and vibrancy of the colors are to my taste. I understand everything is subjective and opinions will vary.

I like it and the dark background works really well. Just that one small protrusion on the branch just left of centre is a bit of a nuisance that I would try to remove.

Thank you and it's funny that you mentioned that little branch sticking up, it bothered me, too. I did try to remove it, but I couldn't do it without showing traces of its removal so I just left it.

That looks good. My software wouldn't do that, it kept showing vertical lines. Did you use PS?

Affinity Photo. It has a tool called an Inpainting brush that works really well on images like this. Takes about 10 seconds!

Cool! I'll check into that. I would use PS but it's too expensive for my needs, maybe Affinity is cheaper, or better yet, FREE!

$69.99 isn't bad at all. I like the fact you can remove the tiniest of things, like a hair, (or so claimed) and not affect anything else.
