When we recently visited the Great Falls Park on the Potomac River just upstream of Washington DC, I played with some slower shutter speeds. All shots handheld and braced as best I could, as I did not bring a tripod. That will be next time!
The lighting was dull and dreary bu the falls were wonderful.

Lovely series, Joe! If you want a bit of warmer punch, you can introduce a Hard light layer in Blending modes in Photoshop. Blake Rudis, f/64 Academy, has a free action you can use and adjust to suit.
