aka Ghost Pipes (Monotropa uniflora)

Unlike most plants, it is white and does not contain chlorophyll; it is parasitic on certain fungi that are mycorrhizal with trees.

nice shots. I usually see these around Beech trees. Was this, by chance, in a beech forest or around a group of beech trees? In some areas they are also called "ghost plants or ghost flowers." They are beautiful and you captured them beautifully.

Appreciate your comment Jeff. Yup, they were under a grove of beech. I also read that the type of mushrooms they parasitize are in the Russula family.
