Is this a good tripod deal for travel

I saw this on the B&H website while back and it's still available apparently. It's for a Gitzo series 2 Mountaineer tripod along with a couple of heads. There's a substantial discount and I'm wondering whether this is a discontinued item or whether it's not very popular hence the need to move it along with a large discount.

I'll be traveling to New Zealand shortly and I was thinking about taking a tripod along. I only have an old manfrotto aluminum currently, and I was wondering if it's time to get into a better quality tripod for landscape pictures. Any help is appreciated very much.
Sticker shock 😲

I just picked this up - could not pass on the price with the legs, ball head, and monopod. Assembling this kit in pieces would be almost $1500.
I received it yesterday and it's awesome. My travel tripod was a MEFOTO Globetrotter Aluminum. The 4-section legs got very thin at the end. These larger 3-section legs are are very solid. Folded up the tripod is slightly smaller than the MEFOTO, and I don't need to disassemble the tripod if I want a monopod.

I also bought the smaller 1545 kit to compare. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...gk1545t_bh50y1_gt1545t_series_1_traveler.html
Sending that one back. It's only slightly smaller than the 2545 when folded, and not nearly as sturdy. The bigger ball head is a lot nicer too.

I'm 6'2" - these are both tall enough for me. I also have a 400mm f/2.8 lens and would not hesitate to mount that on these legs.

i use a gitzo traveler series one with a rrs ball head for travel but not for long lenses .

then i have the series 2 with rrs head for my long lenses .

tripods are now 8 years old and still great .

i junked so many tripods over the last 20 years because i didn’t want to spend so much .

as they say the ooor nan pays twice .

i should have bought the quality stuff originally

I decided to buy the Oben CQL-13 tripod+ball head for my New Zealand trip. It's small and light, obviously not for large and heavy lenses but fine for my landscape setup using either my Z50II with DX 12-28 PZ or my Z8 with FX 14-30. I will hand-hold my 600 PF for animal action. Now I just have to figure out the best way to hike with the Z8/600mm. I've read all the back and forth about black rapid (and the negatives), the moneymaker, and a few other alternatives such as Cotton. I'm looking at Spider right now. Not planning on doing long hikes (drive up, hike maybe 1-2 miles RT). Also taking my AF-P 70-300mm (adapted, gets me to 450mm on the Z50ii), and could possibly be used on the Oben tripod, which accommodates a hanging weight.
Thanks for the discussion, really helpful.
