What a beautiful series Sandy. Most of us will never have the opportunity to see these beautiful animals in the wild. How fortunate for you to be able to take such wonderful photos and thanks for sharing them with us on this forum. Well done.

Thanks everyone! It really was a wonderful trip. I would love to go back for another try after all I learned from this trip. I was there in late August so the rivers were quite low. These Jaguar photos were taken on the rivers around Porto Jofre in Brazil.

The group I was with flew into Cuiaba and drove to Puerto Jofre via the Estrada Transpantaneira. That was quite an adventure in itself! It wasn't just the jaguars, but the birds and other animals made it a wildlife photographer's paradise.

I think 3 might be my favorite, but I keep changing my mind. I had a hard time narrowing it down to these photos for the post!

Nice set of pictures Sandy.

It looks like we have visited the same place. I recognise the cow’s corpse.
I saw your great jaguar photos! It sure looks like the same cow. We must have been there at the same time. There sure wasn't much left after a few days.

Many thanks for sharing this picture Sandy :)
I was there between August 15th and 24th.
When I left, the cow was inflated like a balloon and no animal had yet found a way to eat it.
When were you onsite please ?

I was on the river August 27-31. It must have popped just after you left. I didn't realize it had been there that long before I saw it. It was interesting going by each day seeing the changes. The earlier photo I posted was actually the jag chasing off the vultures. It kind of looked like he was playing.
