I really like the space on the left and agree, giving the bird room to look into the frame is nice. If I cropped anything it might be some of the dark out of focus space below the bird but it might hurt more than help as there's a certain symmetry with the dark foreground and background up top that might be lost if you crop out too much of that foreground at the bottom. I really like the image as presented but always ask myself if some other presentation might be stronger and then play with ideas. Thanks Dave, I actually did lighten the area around the eye, but perhaps a bit more would be good. I also tried less space on the left but didn't like how it centered the bird. I will certainly give it another look. Thanks for taking time to give an opinion.
Yes this was taken last spring so the snow was melting all around. One works with what one is presented with. How does it work for you as is? Thanks for commenting.Pretty little bird. Small birds in snow photograph well. I think due to the relative size of the snow texture. Shame there wasn't more snow to work with. A white FG against that lovely BG would have worked wonderfully.
Love the feather detail and general composition and exposure. Great bokeh but perhaps cutting out a little more of the foreground. All comments welcome, thanksView attachment 18050
I respect your opinion. Keep presenting great photos. Thanks for commenting Jeffrey, there is a delicate balance re the foreground. I tweaked this way and that, and settled here. I think it balances well.
