This Carribbean vagrant shows up in South Florida pretty frequently year after year; this bird was aggressively patroling an area it has occupied for some months already. We know it calls pretty constantly, apparently interested in finding a mate. It's crest was erect most if not all of the 30 minutes or so that I was observing it. There is another one down in the Keys concurrently, and one had shown up briefly this season in Crandon Park on Key Biscayne, but hasn't been back there since then.
