I bought a lens cover for my 200-500 a long time ago and it just got in the way. I like the idea of a lens cover and these look good, I did look them up. But really, think about it, we cover our lens as if that will hide the camera and we stand behind it with 20 other photographers and none of us are covered. Do lens covers really do any good in this case? I see people shooting in camo out in the open and not one other sole out there is in "hiding" clothes so what good does that do? I was on a trip with a group last year and there was a woman who did this every day, as if it mattered. It did give me a chuckle though. I can see a lens cover in a hide or if I'm alone and crawling through the forest or grass. I know the lens cover may work to protect the lens and that of course is a good reason in itself. But, I can't see a lens cover being any good at hiding the lens so that it blends in and does not scare the animal. I might try one of these for my 500PF, I'm tough on gear as I'm not too careful, so it would be nice to protect it. Thanks for the info.
