Here is another image from my time earlier this month at Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana. This female lion and an adult male lion were resting on the very top of a rock outcrop in the southern end of the reserve near the Limpopo River. She was quite alert, almost never falling asleep and frequently changing her position to scan her surroundings.
