Long-eared owl (flyby + perched)

This very topic (Eagle Owl or Long-Eared) has actually sparked quite the discussion on another platform. I think it's indeed the eyes that's throwing a lot of people off. But it's 100% a (first year) long-eared owl (they all have orange/red eyes over here in Western Europe).

This time of year (in Western Europe), this somewhat secretive owl species tends to group up in roosts; making them a bit easier to find (lack of leaves/vegetation doesn't hurt either). Combine that with some nice light (which is blind luck this time of year) and it makes for some nice photo opportunities.
