I’ve traveled to Botswana many times, but never to Makgadikgadi Pans. After reading about the wet season migration of zebra, wildebeest and flamingos, I decided to give it a try. There was a drought this past wet season, but I was fortunate to arrive after it rained in the area of the Pans, the wildlife was abundant and I wasn’t at all disappointed!
I sat on the ground at this pan one morning as thousands of zebra moved through and stopped to quench their thirst (it gets really hot there in January)! Very exciting!
