Looks pretty soft/out of focus with some motion blur and a weird post-processing effect where it looks kinda like a painting. Also, 1/100 is pretty slow. Try a much faster shutter speed next time and try to get the birds eye in focus.

I've not experienced or read about this site making reconstruction of an image. To me, this photo shows high contrast.

Yeah, high contrast and overprocessed. Was this a big crop? The EXIF does not agree with the info you provided.

As stated above, the camera data this site grabbed says it was a D500 body with a 200mm lens. But your header says it was a D850 body with a 600mm lens. Thoughts as to the discrepancy? Could this be why you say original looks different (because in fact it is a different image)? Just thinking out loud...

All of my lenses are manual focus Nikkors. I honestly can't be bothered changing the CPU settings each time I change lenses, which is often because I prefer primes over zooms

As I said above, all of my lenses are manual focus Nikkors and usually don't bother changing the CPU lens data as I change lenses frequently. It is not something I consider important.

The photo should speak for itself. I am no techno-nerd pixel peeper, I don't get wrapped around the axle on minor stuff and I consider EXIF minor stuff.

Was it shot with a D850 at 600mm or a D500 at 200mm, or both?? Given the actual exif data says D500, I’ll go with that.
