Mindshift 36L backpack

I have been using mine a while now and while it's a great bag, it does get heavy after a while. I think I'm going to buy a smaller backpack for longer hikes when I don't need a large amount of storage. I will most likely get something in the 18-20 liter range.

I told myself "Well, just because it will hold that much doesn't mean you have to always fill it up!", but I do just that every time, so I'm looking for a smaller bag as well.

The Mindshift BL 18L is excellent as is the Mindshift BL 26L. I have three, 18L, 26L and the 36L and all are excellent.

Yeah if you put much into it, it gets heavy really quickly. It's super comfortable but I think I'm going to mostly use it for travel and such.

Yeah the 18 is the one I'll most likely go with. A lot of times I don't take much out and that size would be perfect. I had a smaller lowepro bag for years and sold it. Wishing now that I still had it lol. I also have a mind shift shoulder bag I use at times as well as the think tank belt system which works great. Seems like you can never have too many bag options.

I don't know which Lowepro you had, but I have a small one and it's just too small, so I'll be looking at the Mindshift 18L as well.

thanks Steve. Mine arrives in an hour or two. I have smaller "day" bags already - so Ill see how this one performs

It is definitely a very nice bag. The straps in the backpack pad are very nice but if you’re carrying it for three or four hours, it can get a little much depending on how much gear you have in it.

well here is the 36L

It holds every Nikon lens I have with a bit of room left over - see the attached image. I'd never need all my lenses. three possibly at most - so there's masses of room left.

I think for carry on that its right at the extreme of the size limit. I'm not sure I'd risk taking it then having to put it in the hold though.

They definitely hold a lot and that’s my biggest problem. I always take too much crap out lol. If you’re only out 2-3 hours it’s good but really starts getting uncomfortable for me after that. Super nice bags for sure
