Mirrorless camera ( Z8 ) turning off and then requires refocusing for solar eclipse

After watching several solar eclipse webinars, I heard the statement that if a mirrorless camera shuts off you will have to refocus the camera. Is this true? If yes, can you set the camera to manual, the lens to manual, focus manually and then if the camera turns off will it require refocussing? Should I shoot with my 810 as I did for the annular eclipse? Thanks for your opinion and answers!!!

You can set the camera to stay at the pont it's focused before it shuts off (at least for nikon). I don't remember the setting, but it's in the manual.

Not if you have the Z8 set properly: Setup Menu > Save Focus Position = On.
