My first impression on the Nikon Zf

ironically this came up but since my wife and i shoot we just bought 2 zf cameras this week .

we already upgraded our older z6’s two months ago .

i bought a z8 and she took a z6iii.

for travel and flying we had a pair of fuji x100s .

ww sold them and were looking in to replacing them as well as we no longer had a back up camera .

we thought about the new fuji x100vi. , then the leica d-lux 8 and neither could be obtained

so we looked in to the zf and some small primes .

the more we thought about it the more buying two made sense .

it would mate to any of our z series lenses and serve as a back up for anything .

so we ordered two .

we liked them so much that we came to the conclusion that as long as we were not birding and needed our long lenses or even using the 70-200 mm f2.8 , then the zf would be our go to cameras .

we got one with the 40mm f2 , one with the 50mm f1.4 , the 26mm pancake and a 35mm f1.8 S which i already have .

they are a small light weight package that performs extremely well and the overall weight is less than my z8 and typical zooms .

they also fit in much smaller inconspicuous bags since we take the train to manhattan to shoot many times
I have the z8 and zf and it's a really good combination. I use the zf more than the z8. Love the camera.

It's a lot of fun with manual lenses too. The 40 f2, 26 2.8 are great with it. Some of the Chinese brands primes look fun and appealing for manual lenses as well, the Artralab Nonnikkor's, Thypoch's and some of the TT artisans etc.
