I'm getting nothing close to that, 56 to 140 and everything in between, if the transfer doesn't pause completely. I must be doing something wrong or the motherboard and drives are that slow, my Asus gig wireless router is a bottle neck or I don't have the Synology set up optimally.

Yeah, it should be faster than that, even over a 1Gb connection. Maybe there's a lot of other traffic on the router? The YT channel SpaceRex (the video in an earlier post) has a lot of info and he has a forum too. Maybe someone on his forum can provide a suggestion. Sounds very frustrating!
