The snow is finally clearing and the garden birds are making mre visits to my feeders. Nikon D500, 300mm f:2.8 + 1.4 TC III.

D500, 300mm f2.8 + TC 2.0 III. Some loss of sharpnesss as expected but not too bad. Definitly a keeper for me.

Those results are amazing. They are better than the TC 1.7 on my Nikon 70-200 f2.8 E. I wouldn't think of trying the TC 2 on that lens.

Following the advice of another forum member I took a lot of trouble and time to get the autofocus fine tune spot on. That effort has paid off as you an see. I used both FoCal and Lens Align both of which produced almost identical corrections.
