Nikkor Z 600 f6.3

I’m in a similar position owning the 600mm PF, the 100-400, and 400mm 4.5. So far I have found use cases for each and don’t see myself selling any of them.

I'm very happy to own the 180-600 and 600PF. No consideration of selling either. Difference in focus speed is an eye blink

Same story here. Wish there was some glaring flaw that made it easy to pick one over the other.

Same here I have the 600 f6.3, 400 f4.5, and 100-400. If one had to go it would be the 100-400. I carry the 600 & 400 one mounted the other in a pack. I find for walking around I never have a use for anything shorter than 400. Typically when I go out for a walk around I have a particular subject (s) in mind i.e. small songbirds, or around water for pelicans, egret, & herons etc.

Love this lens but what's up with the lens hood? Is there a fix for it?

Merry Chistmas! I used Pledge on mine. Very smooth now.

What don't you like about it? Zemlin gives you choices, but not inexpensive ones. If you are talking about the attachment you need to align the larger circles with the solid dot on the lens. Merry Christmas, cats think it's time for presents at 4am here.

I actually stated this backwards. You align the two solid dots, then turn left. It's actually smooth if you follow that from the start.
For those that aren't aware, Nikon has a Reference Guide for each lens that is not in the box, but can be downloaded.

The hood for the 600PF is excellent, no need for a Zemlin replacement this time around (sorry, Karl )
