If it does happen, expect early 2024 but likely later. Once demand for 800 PF has calmed down. The key phase-fresnel "machine" will be freed to make the keystone lens element, which have to anneal for some months apparently.
Cost can be expected lower than that of the 800 S PF. With O.L. of 310-312mm a 600 f5.6S PF can be expected to weight less than 2kg

As it has a smaller front element and is slightly smaller overall than the 800 PF. The 800 f6.3 PF is US$6,500 so, I would suggest the 600 f5.6 PF to be about US$5,500-US$6,000.

Lenses often take a few years from initial idea to final release, that is if the design gets traction in the company. The patent might only be registered closer to release; this occurred only a few months before in the case of the 500 PF (2018).

Like to see a 600 PF (or 400 F/4.5 equivalent at 600mm FL) at F/5.6.

Any internal TC is not really a TC.
Lens elements are fitted between the other elements and they all have to work as together.
Internal TC are far superior to ones of compromised design just added to the end of the lens ...

600mm divided by f5.6 requires a minimum front element diameter of 107.14mm.
1000mm divided by f8 requires 125mm.
Despite being relatively light weight these lenses like the 800 PF would be quite large and quite expensive.
A lens design does not go into production unless the manufacture thinks it can be made at a price which will make a profit and at a price that it thinks the buying a public will buy in reasonable numbers.
In a perfect world a 600 mm f5 .6 PF would cost around 85% of the price of the 800 f6.3 PF.
If a 600mm f5.6 enters production I would join the likely inevitable queue wanting to buy one.
Digressing slightly, for those still entirely DSLR - as ML viewfinders are several stops brighter in any reasonable light an f6.3 lens does not have the composition or manual focus issues it would on DSLR's.
I just want the 200-600mm to be available!
A patent like this will not keep others from bringing a product that is functionally the same to the market. What it does is protect their design from being copied and brought to the market.

not sure what I would decide if given the choice of a 600 F/4 TC or 600 F/5.6 PF w/o a TC. Now if they had a 600 F/5.6 PF TC it would be an easy choice
