Some snaps from the archives, showing what the old cameras did, brings back some memories.
Not 5 star but memorable.

No eye focus or facial tracking just good old fashioned focusing the organic way LOL
The Calf wrangling,
i wonder what the Z 9 will do, facial recognition of the cowboys face or the face and eye of the calf, cant wait to find out....LOL
Nikon DF 16mp and D7100 24mp on the 300 2.8 vrII TC x2III 600mm f5.6 all at 5 to 6 fps matrix 20 points -07ev, at the time i lent the D5 and 600 f4 to my assistant.
Surfing shots cropped heavily, haze at 600mm was challenging at times....when the wind dropped.
I only ever pop 1, 2, no more than 3 shots at any time in high consecutive. Understanding the subject helps with that immensely. My mate with his D5 hammers endlessly...not for me LOL.
I had a A9 for a trial and 20 fps was just to much and i wound it back to 10 fps, i have not liked spray and shot.....i find for me 9, 11, 14fps is plenty.......
Shutter Black out never bothers me.
I like focus attacking speed in the pro cameras ....... 30 or 120 fps.....i don't want to get 3000 shots to wade through on every shoot......
Looking forward to what the Z9 will bring to the table.

DF 16mp 300 2.8vrII TCx2III F5.6 600mm 5fps lots of haze whites a bit harsh but can be edited if needed. Most importantly Carissa is doing her magic.
The DF is my street camera but backs up anytime for anything.......yes its a DF but sorry i love it......its a D4/D4s in my pocket just not 11fps but that hasn't bothered me.

DF 16mp 300 2.8vrII TC x2III F5.6 600mm 5fps hand held graphics fits in negative space....
Nice to see what the cameras we used used to do........looking forward to the Z9 experience.
I have never used tracking as i have never had the need, i bought a Z9 so it will be interesting to see what it will do for me.
Love the D850 to bits as an all rounder i don't have one complaint about the D850 as it lets me enjoy what i do, sold the D5 and 600 f4 ages ago.....
The D850 200-500 works really well.....yes nothing beats the exotic glass.......but i rent it if and when needed.
