Was camping along the Oregon coast and came across this family of Nutria near our campsite. Listed as an invasive species to the US but apparently increasingly common in the pacific NorthWest though not something we see in Wyoming with their Beaver like faces and big teeth but with a thick rat like tail.

When we lived in the PNW in the '90s they were already quite common all along the lower Columbia River valley. An example of people trying to "manage" the environment and things going off the rails. They were imported to North America in an attempt to control the water hyacinth which had been previously introduced. Now they've both run amuck.
