It's been a late awakening in AZ. Snakes out late; haven't seen a Gila monster yet, and the paper wasps just arrived. You can see the nest on the left that got painted over. Fascinating to watch them.

They are docile and have never attacked. If you really want to scare yourself look up Tarantula Hawk. Large wasp, red wings. Recommendation if stung. Lie on ground for 5 minutes and scream at the top of your lungs.

They sting tarantulas to immobilize them; drag them into a hole, lay eggs on them, and the when born the new borns eat the still living tarantula.

In the desert, everything wants to bite, sting, or poke you. No wonder I found Africa calming.
