I was curious and wanted to know how the Peak Design's connecting cords of the Anchor were attached inside the plastic part.

To see this, I cut open a Peak Design Anchor.

The ends of the connecting cords are connected to a metal part and melted into the middle of the plastic part .

The whole thing seems very solid and secure 👍👍👍

I think the connecting cords are more likely to tear than to be pulled out of the plastic part.

good to know. It is always worth paying for quality. Buy it the first time or the nth time. But eventually you will buy it.

And here's the cheap Chinese copy of the Peak Design anchor.
Unlike the Peak Design anchor, it's made of very soft plastic that I easily cut with a carpet knife.
The first end of the connecting cord broke off quite easily.

With the Peak Design Anchor, I had no chance with the carpet knife.
I had to use a small cutting disc and a tremel.

The Chinese junk were about 2 lbs 😬
so how does translate into pounds that each $ of anchor will support. I bet that the real anchor will support $25-50 for every $ you spend while the Chinese junk will only support around a pound or two for every dollar you spend. your choice ..
