Post Your Best Wildlife Photos Of 2022

Wow, stunning photos from everyone over here! My humble collection for this year, approximately in crononological order. The last six were taken with old "heavy metal" (no plastic fantastic) manual focus lenses.

Wow!, All great shots. The Fujifilm with the Nikon 300mm worked well, that's amazing Jose.

I think my favorite image captured this year was with a camera trap set up. A lot goes into planning these shots in terms of mounting flashes, cameras and a sensor as well as picking flash location and power settings. Attaching everything to tree mounts and ground stakes in freezing weather is a challenge. I was really happy with this one where my batteries held their charges and my equipment didn't get buried in a pretty hefty January snow storm.

Pentax K3, three remote Nikon SB 28 flashes, Camptraptions sensor, transmitter and receivers

I was also happy with this Western wood-pewee during my initial trials with Pro-capture using the OM-1. It would have taken extreme luck to capture this pose without new technology.

Finally, I just like the dark mossy background with this black bear portrait in Alaska. OM-1
That first shot is amazing!

Here are mine…the reddish egret one isn't the same as Steve's white morph shot…but I it was at Fort DeSoto Park which I think is where he got his and the background in his looks like the same lagoon over on the west side of the park to me. It was a tossup for me to post this similar shot or a slightly later in the morning of the same one with the classic umbrella fishing pose or the one with the little fish in mid air as he gulped it.

Three from my yard this year. The racoon and leucistic dark-eyed junco were taken last Friday after the freezing rain event here on the west side of Puget Sound.

I wasn't going to post anything...heck there are so many truly amazing shots here, but figured what the heck. I tried to choose subjects not already posted here to attempt a bit of variety...
