I had the same problem when I went from a normal gimbal to the Wimberley Monogimbal - monopod too short. I solved that problem by buying a longer, sturdier monopod.

I bought the absolute tallest monopod I could find (84”). It’s a big, thick, carbon fiber behemoth. I’m 6 feet, 8 inches tall barefoot. Add a pair of hikers or muck boots to that, and you’ll see my dilemma.

Ouch! Being that tall I guess a monopod problem is probably only one of many you have to negotiate in life.
