Program Mode?

About the only time I use P mode on my Nikon DSLR bodies is when I have a Nikon Flash attached to the hot shoe and I am taking indoor flash photos like at birthday parties when I do not have the time to set everything myself. The Nikon flash is set to TTL BL. I let the computers in the camera and the flash figure out what aperture and shutter speed needs to be set.

For years I have used mainly Aperture-priority, less frequently Shutter-priority, now I'm using Manual with Auto ISO more and more, thanks Steve. However, I have always, probably arrogantly, perhaps rashly, blindly ignored Program Mode as if it didn't exist.

Now, after God knows how many years, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm missing a trick somewhere?

Anybody out there use Program Mode, and if so, in what circumstances?

Cheers,

Mike.
I've also either used Aperture or Manual modes unless shooting wildlife.
I start in Program mode just in case something shows up and I need to be fast.
After the first frame I can decide whether to go Aperture Shutter or Manual...
