This farm is called Gannabos, which translates from two languages KhoiSan( indigenous peoples) and Afrikaans - Ganna = Quiver tree and Bos = "forest" or "bush"

The trees are Aloe Dichotoma and they grow to about 3 metres in the very arid areas in Western South Africa. The Bushmen (San) used to use dried hollow branches to fashion their quivers for thie poisoned arrows. This area is semi desert getting abou 70mm rain in a good year but it's hauntingly beautiful.
