Awesome images. I like the wider FOV in the first but prefer the pose and position of the animal in the frame in the second shot. So overall I'd pick the second one.

Thanks Elena, that’s an interesting observation. I wish I could say I had realized that, but didn’t. I just knew I liked the background from that angle.

#1 is not bad but #2 is in a different league. The elements just come together in that one: the light, composition, slight crop or zoom and magnetism to his right eye. Nicely done.
