I don’t understand the design as it seems it has only one screw and I’m not sure what the two black smaller rods shown are for?

The black rod probably goes in the second hole in the lens foot to keep from rotating.I don’t understand the design as it seems it has only one screw and I’m not sure what the two black smaller rods shown are for?
That’s what I’m using and I think it’s great. Flexibility for balancing and makes a nice handle.I ordered the kirk enterprises 5.25" plate, I'm thinking that'll work well for me.
The two little black rods go into the two holes at either end of the 180-600 foot to keep the plate from twisting.I don’t understand the design as it seems it has only one screw and I’m not sure what the two black smaller rods shown are for?
What do you mean by freely rotates? If you untighten the screw a little, the collar rotates around the lens pretty smoothly, at least that’s my experience?I’m using the Kirk but what I’d like is the entire collar replaced by one that freely rotates.
Prices and quality can be expected to vary: RRS, Kirk, Haoghe, perhaps Leofoto....
