It seems that there are a number of available replacement feet for the Nikon Z mount 400mm f/4.5 lens: Haoge, Leofoto, Wimberley, Kirk. Looking for experiences with any of them and recommendations. Thanks in advance.

this. it’s a good product, but also they have a foot that gives you as much length as possible to get as close to the balance possibleHejnar, all the way. Great quality, have added one to every telephoto lens I’ve owned.
I just watched Steve Mattheis’ latest video and he is using a Kirk foot on his 100-400mm lens. He showed how easy it is to pop it on and off, which I thought would be an advantage.Kirk. Don’t need a tool when I want to remove it.
How is it better than the Nikon foot?Hejnar, all the way. Great quality, have added one to every telephoto lens I’ve owned.
Arca Swiss rails, socket for QD sling attachment are the big ticket items. If your primary aim is to handhold though, I’d just keep the Nikon foot. How is it better than the Nikon foot?
Reviews are mostly positive, but one mentions that the edges are “sharp” and uncomfortable in the hand…how do you find it? Also, I am unable to determine if it can accept a QD connector? The Haoge LF-Z72 also works well. (from Amazon UK)
RRS seems to be out of stock.I second the RRS foot. I have a 100-400 which takes the same foot (70-200 does too) and haven't had any issues with it. I think if you go with one of the big brands everyone has listed you can't go wrong. Prices will fluctuate between brands but I'm sure all the top ones will server you well. RRS was $140 when I purchased it. I like the fact that Nikon is using the same collar for several lens. Good for the consumer as manufacturer and produce more knowing they can sell for multiple lens.
I have the Kirk replacement foot and I find the edges sharp as well. It’s on my 70-200 but fits the 400 4.5Reviews are mostly positive, but one mentions that the edges are “sharp” and uncomfortable in the hand…how do you find it? Also, I am unable to determine if it can accept a QD connector?

Thanks for the info. I don’t think a QD hole is threaded. I also have a PD strap, so that is another consideration. So right now I am considering Kirk and Hejnar, and possibly Haoge. Being Canadian, the price becomes pretty much double a U.S. price, so it is also important…but not so important that I would put my lens at risk by opting for something cheap that won’t hold up! Thank you all for your comments. No sharp edges on mine.
It has a 3/8" threaded hole in the centre so I assume that is what you need?
If you look closely it has a small "bar" at the end and into the gap this creates I attached a peak design anchor, and another on a small plate on the camera body.
I also have the Kirk foot but use the Haoge because I can easily fit the PD anchor.
It's about 20mm shorter than the Kirk.
or even better, just remove the foot.If your primary aim is to handhold though, I’d just keep the Nikon foot.
