Most of the RolanPro pieces for a given lens aren't hard to get on. A lot just use velcro. Some have an elastic strip portion that helps them get on. But it does vary by lens as the design for the cover is always different for each section. For most of my lenses the only real hard piece to put on is the lens hood piece.
Once on they usually fit very well. My only issue as I mentioned earlier was the rear piece of the 400GM one that was just a little too long and interfered with lens mounting somewhat. So they aren't perfect. But they are certainly better than fraying/loose LensCoats.

So the Rolanpro cover for my Nikon Z 400mm 2.8 arrived today, in fact less than 20 minutes ago.

I thought I would do a quick review as promised.

Quality = 10/10
Aesthetics = 10/10
Durability = Time will tell.

Ease of installation ... Extremely easy, I had no issues at all getting the sleaves on.
As mentioned by arbitrage.
All bar the Lens hood cover and the final sleeve were attached by Velcro. All this took was some tight pulling to fasten securely.
The Lenshood portion has a small amount of elastic to stretch over it and was quite easy to get on.
Total time to install = 6 minutes

Looks good. Sounds like the Z400TC is similar to my larger Sony primes in design and really not too hard to get on at all.

How is the section over the TC switch? Is it a velcro flap or a cutout? If a flap, is it annoying when open?

The section around the TC is stitched very well and there is a flap with velcro at the top.
Testing it, I find it quite simple to detach the velcro'd flap in the same motion you do when engaging the TC and then repeat to engage the TC.
This was the bit I was very unsure of, but playing around with it in the house, I don't see it being any sort of issue.

Another vote for RolanPro cover. I have one for my 180-600 and really like it. Yes it takes a little bit to mount it but once its on its on and I have not run into any of the issues I had with lenscoat in the past (similar to what others have). I don't think I will ever purchase one for any of my extending lens (100-400, 24-70) but that is mostly person preference. RolanPro cover has worked great for me for last year and don't regret getting it
