About 45 minutes south of us is a Spoonbill rookery that has gotten more and more active as they seem to be deserting South Florida/Florida Bay. I have to think this is one of the best places to photograph Spoonbills in North America. You can stand in one area and catch them coming in to gather nesting material, so you get the wing spread, braking, landing etc. You can reposition yourself and get some in flight shots as they head back to the rookery with the nesting material. This shot is the latter obviously. If you ever find yourself in Central Florida in the spring, let me know. Happy to show you around.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice shot.
I am always wondering if flying like this will lead to accidents.

I don't think it's the brightness. It's the saturation of the blues.
I would try the first version, but with less saturation.

This is really a nice shot. I love the dorsal view of the wings and the bright color of the bird against the dark BG. The second version with the blues darkened is much better IMO. Nice job.
