So I primarily shoot with my D500 which I love. I use BBAF on the AF-ON button with the default mode in GRP. I also have the Pv button set to shift the camera to single point whenever it is depressed. I find this works well for perched birds to BIF and vice versa. All these functions are selected with my right hand.
So today I installed an MB-D17 grip and was programming the grip functions. The grip AF-ON button is now identical to the camera’s equivalent. But I’m stumped to how to shift to single point with my right hand. The options for the Fn1 button on the grip controls menu don’t appear to support that function. I can still use the Pv button, but it looks like I have to use my left hand, which I typically use to support the lens…..I typically hand hold.
So I just wanted some ideas from others that have much greater experience than I have. I’m sure I’m missing something obvious but I’d be interested in other’s ideas. Thanks in advance.
