The Waxwings have been visiting our crabapple tree every morning for the past week and though there may be a dozen in the tree at a time I've had a hard time capturing decent group shots. I'm pleased with the way this came out where a bit of stopping down helped to keep eyes sharp in both birds.

Are these cedar waxwings or bohemian waxwings. I think they are cedar. Awesome shot!!!

I was out for a walk in our local Provincial Park this past Friday and was fortunate enough to come across these beautiful tiny creatures. Chickadees are the least shy bird species in my limited experience (under a year) of taking pictures of wildlife, but if you're half ready for them some of the pictures turn out quite nice. They sure don't stay in one spot for long (under a second pretty much always). A fun challenge!

Received my Z6 II last week and have been putting it through its paces. Spent some time shooting it with the 500mm PF on backyard subjects this morning and am overall pretty happy with the results like this Dark Eyed Junco.

Yeah, HomeGrown Cedar Products, they are made in USA and sold at Lowe’s home improvement. They also make feeders, I bought one that looks like a small picnic table. Not super durable but Kinda nice

They are a bit smaller than the ones I make. I notice the House Sparrows didn't even try this one. I only worry about space for the nestlings but I think it will be fine for 3 or 4 swallows. The Tree Swallows sure moved in fast. (y)

10 feet away I have a new cedar box I made and the house sparrows took it over on day one. I'll probably buy a couple more and see if they fill up this season
