White-crowned Sparrow in the desert, trying to look tough but coming off as cute. :)

Almost two hours condensed into five images. Patience, patience and more patience. :)

Taken at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. Used a rented z9 with my Sony FE 200-600mm lens. Or was it the Canon 600mm.

In any case I had a monopod which allowed me to move about easily and stand around without actually holding the camera and lens up all the time with no rest. The Canon lens weighs about 11lbs, handholding is possible but not for long.

Here a few of my little birds that I've gotten this.

Doug, great shot. Was this taken a week ago ? The weather is wrecking havoc along the coast; I thought the snow bunting would have gone for sure by now.

Oliver
This was between storms. eBird reports indicate the bird is still there as of 15 January. Snow Buntings are hardy little things.

Lot's of great threads on Hawks, Owls,Eagles and the big guys but if you're like me you have plenty of file images of small birds like: finches, sparrows, wrens, warblers, flycatchers and the like. Thought it might be nice to start an ongoing thread for sharing photos of the little guys.

Here's a House Wren that I didn't expect. I was shooting Cedar Waxwings and a King Fisher from a blind along a small stream when this guy jumped up on a nice perch in decent light.

Anyone else want to share images of songbirds and the like?
Very nice shot!

Little guys applies to this one quite well.

Goldcrest, Europe's smallest (and very twitchy) bird. It was nice enough to pose just long enough to allow me to get a few shots in.

It's been a while since I added anything to this amazing thread. These are from last week in my backyard, D850/500Pf.
