That looks to be a little misrepresentation from Sony Alpha Rumors. It's resellers trying to take advantage of an out of stock lens.And the price has just jumped exponentially:

Yes, in my book engaging content is king.The image quality difference between a prime and a good zoom is over-rated in my opinion. See Steve Perry's review of the 400-800 for reference. I prefer a zoom over a prime in almost all situations, for the simple reason that composition is more important to image impact than resolution every time. If you have to rely on moving your feet or changing lenses to alter your framing of a scene, you are going to miss a lot of great images.
