I would not throw a flag on the 2nd shot. The Pheasant did not hit the squirrel in the head. It was a clean tackle.

Hi Dan...they fight quite often in my garden....over food and territory...but the pheasant always wins

Great catch(es) -- a little interspecific competition there. The pheasant's lucky that's not a red squirrel -- faster, more agile and they eat more meat.

A long time ago, I was at a friends house when the chickens caught a squirrel in the chicken pen. When it was over, there was hardly anything left of the squirrel. I've seen them (chickens) kill mice and rats, too.

Craziest thing I have ever seen. I have seen woodpecker on squirrel violence and turkey on turkey fights but this is just tops. Nice find and capture. Has the pheasant been fed there as it's in your garden alot?

Fantastic series.
Only time ever I learned of such an aggressive squirrel was one somewhere in Toronto area that people thought had rabies since this one kept on charging at the home-owners every time they went outside.

That's fascinating! Never seen that behavior before.
I did once see a squirrel pick up a "window strike" dead bird and immediately know to rip into it and eat its stomach contents.
